The 1st precast parking facility in Russia, Golovino Parking Structure, has just been completed with help from DESMAN. The state program for the City of Moscow estimates that 1.5 million structures will be needed by the year 2016. DESMAN was approached to provide consulting services and expertise to Nabad Design Bureau to develop the first of its kind. The deck contains 1,300 spaces and serves the new Golovino Residential Complex in Moscow. Although commonplace in the US, the precast structural system was an innovative and inexpensive way to solve the long term parking deficit in Moscow. DESMAN participation included Steve Rebora, Vesna Todorovic, Bob Lutz, Tien Nguyen, Suresh Gami and B. Indusekar. Let’s hope this is the first of many parking structures in Moscow.
The PCI Journal featured the Golovino Parking Structure in their Winter 2014 edition.
