Bradley Airport

Features: 3,459-car, four level open parking structure serving the needs of the traveling public.

Description: The Bradley International Airport Parking Facility located in Windsor Locks, Connecticut is a 3,459 space, four-level open parking structure serving the needs of the traveling public. The garage has two entrance areas of four lanes and a nine-lane exit plaza connecting with the Terminal roadway network. The superstructure is pre-cast pre-stressed concrete designed for seismic loads.

An architectural pre-cast finish provides an attractive treatment that catches the eye upon arrival to the airport. An external pedestrian walkway is connected to two pedestrian bridges provides convenient access to the Bradley terminals. The offices for the airport parking management entity are located in an adjacent single story building.

Call for assistance stations located throughout the facility provides two-way communication directly to the security office located on the first floor. A CCTV system serving all stair/elevator towers is connected to the airport parking authority and Bradley Police Department. Glass stair towers and glass-backed elevators provide maximum visibility.

As owner’s agent and parking consultant, DESMAN’s role included program and scope documents development, RFP development, design-build bidding, evaluation and support, design development and contract documents review, evaluating and recommending enhancements to garage revenue/vehicle control, signage and security management systems, shop drawings review, payment requisition review/approval, monitoring construction and punch-list development, and acting as the Department’s construction administrator.
