Gateway Adjacent Parking Garage Off-Site

Features: 1,110-car space, two-bay wide parking facility on five supported levels plus grade.

Description: The Gateway adjacent garage is the second of two garages constructed and owned by the City of Cleveland as part of a new stadium complex located at the primary entrance into the Downtown area. The unique siting of this garage lent itself to an opportunity to create a major architectural and structural statement for all visitors entering the City.

The facility houses 1,100 vehicles and primarily services the Gund Arena, home to the Cleveland Cavaliers basketball franchise. This facility empties in 30 minutes and has a 300-foot pedestrian bridge linking itself to the complex. The structure is a combination of cast-in-place and pre-cast concrete with an array of admixtures stains and inlaid ceramic tiles contributing to the unique and playful exterior of the building’s façade.

The complex consists of numerous buildings all are which protected by Gateway Security and Police that are stationed in the base of this garage.

The facility has been functioning successfully since August 1994 and has received praise from City officials and Cleveland’s Architectural/Engineering community. DESMAN is the Parking Consultant and Structural Engineer of Record.
